Josí H

(they/she) ((we/us)) HUMAN.

Josi H is a diviner, energy medicine practitioner and teacher that shares practices of subtle energy, to support our connections with our body, earth, and Spirit. Josi walks with many, and they share acknowledgement for the lands, waters, animals, plants, and trees. Deep reverence for The Ancient Ones, and of course, our most beloved ancestors, that we share counsel with, and who support our movements of life, amongst the shadows and what is fully seen.

Josi continues to learn with the land & waters, animals, and in community, as well as with Spirit, to continue to learn how to support our well-being and care, among many planes of consciousness and realms. They are passionate to support our efforts in mind choices, and body actions, that can assist the work of decolonization, so we can move beyond the old systems that clearly do not support life.

Josi is a queer, fluid, white and hispanic individual, who acknowledges that though they carry indigeneity amongst their mix, that they are also a bona fide settler on native lands. These lands of so-called Canada are incredibly healing and nurturing, and they look forward to slowly tending to further relations with their distant relatives. At heart, Josi carries a vision of communities that center in liberation from the constraints of capital, supremacy, and all the destructive habits found in-between. To keep this dream alive, they endeavour to support in the interim, the gentle ways we can cleanse our minds and bodies, of the many binds from these errosive constraints on our wellbeing in OneSelf, as well as of humanity, and our Earth.

i am not for everyone... and that's freeing, isn't it?
here is some of my story

I believe the first 7-years of a child’s life are known as the formative years for our personage? It brings me deep gratitude then, to see how by age 8, my mother, a meditation teacher of Maharishi Ayurveda, then shared with me breathing and meditation practices to commence with the work required in this lifetime.

I was initiated from a young age into my subtle energy practices, and most definitely they have morphed, shifted, expanded, and most definitely changed as I grew. They shared with me practices to support me in my life, as well as were a reliable tool-kit to assist me in exploring the longer self-reflective journeys of “Who am I?” and “Why am I here?”, amongst the continuous barrage of life’s challenges, mistakes, and lessons to face, experience, and digest. I was a child that remembered, hence rebelled at quite a young age from authoritarian systems that were still placed into our societies. I learned quickly that people didn't like to talk about Spirit, were afraid of insight and truths shared, and learned to shut it down. But then, my body wasn't so happy of this 'cloaking' of our connections to the in-between. My stumbles, difficulties, and further discomforts progressed.

My study of subtle energy extended beyond the home practices shared of the branches of yoga, and by my teens I started to experience immense pains in my physical body, which led to learning further of how the physical body works with our energy body. I began to practice more physical yoga asana (postures) & pranayama (breathwork) to support my subtle works with consciousness, which helped with me leaning into the uncomfortable. This led to me studying and training in Hatha Yoga for years with teachers, and culminating in me receiving multiple teaching certifications from 2008-2012 in teaching methodology, yoga asana, meditation, philosophy and pranayama, as well as the further practices of the even subtler stages of practice. As I began facilitating group practices, first locally in Toronto, and then Vancouver, my interest in the energy alchemy experienced within my yoga practice, moved me to explore the Reiki healing method of Usui.

Reiki and Yoga supported me in facing my feared connections with my mediumship, as well as only affirmed my gifts that I came into this lifetime with. I started to channel further messages from Spirit, those most Divine, most beloved ancestors, and the Ancients. As I traveled to South America in 2012, to connect with a part of my paternal heritage, I had already formed, by this point in my life, community with other seers, psychics and Divine messengers. Yes, we tend to gravitate towards eachother. I began to further work with the energy of the elements, the land, waters, and whispers of my ancestors, and learned with them how to heal, as I continued to remember. Remembering my soul experiences, retrieving aspects of me, restoring me, as I stumbled along to see how to navigate all these deep experiences amidst a society that shared with me ways that did not support life, or my gifts.

My healing journey and study of subtle energy supported me in gently healing from multiple traumatic experiences, abusers, manipulators, as well as learning how to navigate beyond the systems structured in the world, like patriarchy, supremacy, and capitalism. It helped me to grow further capacity and strength to unlearn and unravel intergenerational patterns of being, that were unsustainable forwards. It shared with me how to grow healthy boundaries and more compassion. As a teacher, I am constantly learning. As an energy practitioner, I humbly acknowledge the cycles of healing that are inter-mixed with growth, and tend to be in regular contemplation/reflection amongst the processes of transmutation. Subtle energy practices, further travel in our realms of consciousness, as well as it’s medicine, have been the most impactful support system for me to do immense work through the shadows and the darkness, as well as to learn of our human capacity, of alchemy. I learned of boundary, will, truth, love, and further cleansing/protection techniques to support our energies. I give deep heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers and people I have continued to study with over the years of refining, revising, and reviving.

At times, subtle energy medicine has been over-simplified, for it is simple. But, there are multiple layers of energy to be explored, with different skillsets asked for, as you continue. I hope that my work shared with you can support an understanding of the practices to accommodate further possibility. It is gentle work that grows and shifts as we do, paced over times, with spaces between.

you are welcome to read further, to explore those who i name that have supported my walk & work with Spirit. they each have taught me, while aiding my own curiosities & wonder of all that it is to be HUMAN.

with Yoga:

many thanks to MAHARISHI Mahesh Yogi for initiating my mother as a teacher of Transcedental Meditation, which she then taught my adopted-father, my siblings and i. My first initiation within Yoga was held in 1989. i give thanks to the multitude of yoga practices and studies that supported my walk since, and the teachers that shared a deep love and appreciation for the methods they were initiated into, especially Michael Siddall, Vieslav Krystyan, Christine Reeves, Christina Sell, Darren Rhodes, Paul Muller-Ortega, Christopher Hareesh Wallis, and Douglas Brooks. I give thanks to Roberta Trzebinski for her further teachings in Breath and fascia release from a Pilates perspective. I give gratitude to the Kashmir Shaivism lineage of tantrika studies (and the goddess-centered Hinduism called Śrīvidyā), as well as to the oral transmissions still made available by the late Swami Lakshmanjoo.

of Reiki:

deep gratitude to Darlene Dee Hobson (now retired) for initiating me into her Reiki lineage in 2008, which was 7 human steps away from the Reiki shared to Mikao Usui, who founded the Usui Shiki Ryoho method of ReiKI. I also give thanks to those who attuned and taught me in these leveled practices, as i moved towards my own capacity to teach and attune students by 2012, both Jane Davis and Kelly Rasch. I share immense gratitude to all whom I have met amongst my travels with the Breath of Life. I also share heartfelt bows to Kathy Roseborough, who mentored me in my path of dance with the sacred dual energies, supporting me in accessing and trusting furthermore my connections to dear ascended teachers of harmony, that do not need to be named here, for you know them. Reiki is channeling life energy, and was a truly supportive method to assist me in reacquainting myself with my gifts as a seer &/ medium.

with Spirit connection:

sincere heart songs shared with dear Earthkeeper Nukumi Selina for her mentorship journey and generous gifts in teaching from her Indigenous, and most Cosmic pathways of connection with the many realms of Earth and Spirit. I give deep bows to having the honour to connect remotely with many teachers (some more listed on my contact page), but must share immense gratitude to the Inca Medicine School and the Paqo shamans of the Apaza family lineage from the Qero nation. I look forward to continuing on the Paqo path in-person, Divine-time-willing. I also share many thanks to the experiences with Spirit that were received in group sessions with Manari Ushigua, Marcela Lobos, and Marilu Shinn.

on healing practices:

many potent healers have supported my life energy and further remembrance of the medicine peoples of my own blood lines. I give offerings of immense love & devotion to first and foremost my beloved Ancestors, of Jacinta, D, Tino'q, Esmeralda, Tsanim, et. al., who counseled me through the alchemy needed for the carried supremacy in my body. They helped me through some of the darkest days and years. I share love with the Angels and Los Animales, and the Ancient Ones that have protected my path, as i moved through the shadows, traumas, and tribulations of my learning ground of these past forty years. There was much to be rectified, many courses of action from past lifetimes and my bloodlines, that my soul agreed to support switching in this life. I share big hugs to Paco, my beloved familiar, dog, helper, and teacher. A special shout out to the wild dogs of Peru, who walked with me during my 'lone' travels there, especially Pilau, and their shared connections, as we witnessed the wonders of sunrise and sunsets.

The additional healers (in human form) that i was guided to trust and open my energies to, for their supportive body, breath, and energy works were: Cara Houpt, Kelly Romanick, Dr. Farah Hirani, Dr. A. Ali, Serah Ruth Goldberg, Natoya Hall, Caroline Sabbah, Clare Kenty, Kristi Clements, and Beth Rutty.

in gardening:

Thanks to my dad, for first sharing the joy of gardening at home, getting into to the dirt, and with steady effort, enjoying what grows. Thank you to the intensive training with Linda Kool and Laura Poppleton of Kool Country Gardens, your combined knowledge of plants and gardening was incredible! Deep gratitude to the energy of the plants, the earth, and the ancestors, that have supported this trek in caring for our earth, and learning how to support a more sustainable future.

many thanks to:

the many wise ones that have crossed my path, along my travels and transformations. Those whom embraced my queerness and witchiness were much appreciated, and i give gratitude to those that also respected my non-binary nature, even before i could speak of it, or write about it. so where am i now?

My travels have currently placed me in Meaford, Ontario, of so-called Canada. I am currently settled on these lands, and it is with great respect & honour that i acknowledge the Territory of the Anishinabek Nation: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations. Giving deep gratitude to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, known collectively as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this land. I endeavour in my time here to continue to learn, tend, and care for the land and its waters.

I enjoy gardening, painting with Spirit, dancing, singing, and expanding community connections. I share my time with the lands and nearby waters, as well as whom I choose to share space over times with. I share gratitude to the growing international & intergenerational circles that are gathering of humans, plants, stones, and animals, together on this Earth. As I make peace with who I am, care and love for who I continue to revolve into, I look forward to sharing connections with you, as well as remembering more of our shared magick this season!
